Pediatric Dental Appointments

We recommend that all patients, no matter their age, come in twice a year. For our younger patients, our Virginia Beach pediatric dentists offer:

  • Gentle dental exams
  • Teeth cleanings
  • Digital X-rays
  • Dental sealants
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Oral cancer screenings

Getting your child ready for their first dental visit can help reduce their fear. Parents can explain what to expect before the appointment or even play “dentist” at home to help them feel more comfortable.

Parents should also limit sugary foods and drinks and help their kids brush and floss. A good dental routine at home helps children learn how to take care of their teeth as they grow. Other tips to help your child prepare for a dental visit include:

  • Talk about the dentist in a positive way and explain preventive care.
  • Be a role model by sharing your good experiences with the dentist.
  • Explain what will happen during the visit and answer any questions.
  • Read books about the dentist with your child.
  • Check if the office offers activities for kids while they wait.
  • Practice relaxation and deep breathing with your child before the visit.
  • Use distractions during the visit, like singing a song or counting items in the office.
  • Praise your child for good behavior during and after the visit.

During their regular dental visits, our team will teach your child how to keep their teeth and gums clean. We want to make sure your child gets the care they need, with a smile on our faces!

Dental Sealants & Fluoride Treatments: Protection From the Start

As a parent, you do everything to keep your child healthy. Protecting their teeth early sets them up for a lifetime of good smiles. Two of the simplest and most powerful tools we have are dental sealants and fluoride treatments:

  • Dental Sealants: Imagine a clear, protective shield painted onto the chewing surfaces of your child’s back teeth (molars). These teeth have deep grooves where food and cavity-causing bacteria love to hide, even from a good toothbrush. A sealant fills in those grooves, creating a smooth surface that’s easy to clean and hard for decay to start. The process is quick, completely painless, and done in one visit. It’s a smart, proactive step we typically recommend for kids as their permanent molars come in, usually between ages 6 and 14.
  • Fluoride Treatments: Fluoride is like a strengthening vitamin for tooth enamel. While it’s in toothpaste and water, a professional fluoride treatment at our office provides a concentrated boost. We simply paint a flavored gel or foam onto the teeth. It helps rebuild weakened enamel and can even stop very early cavities in their tracks. This quick treatment is beneficial for all patients, especially if someone is prone to cavities.

Together, these easy and safe treatments are a fantastic foundation for a cavity-free smile. Our dental hygienist helps your child build healthy habits that last.

Care for Teens & Adults: Protecting Your Smile’s Future

Your smile’s needs evolve as you grow, and we’re here for every stage.

In your late teens or early twenties, your wisdom teeth (third molars) often try to come in. Most jaws don’t have room for them, which can lead to crowding, pain, or infections. We keep an eye on them with X-rays during your regular visits. If they look like they’ll cause trouble, we may recommend a simple removal to prevent bigger problems.

Crooked or crowded teeth are harder to clean, which can lead to decay and gum issues. For teens and adults with mild to moderate alignment concerns, we offer Invisalign® clear aligners. These are virtually invisible trays that gently shift your teeth into place. You can remove them to eat, brush, and floss normally, with no food restrictions.

Specialized Care for Seniors: A Healthy, Confident Smile at Any Age

Aging brings changes to our oral health, but your smile can stay strong and beautiful with the right care:

  • Addressing Discoloration & Missing Teeth: Over time, enamel naturally thins, and teeth can darken. We offer safe, effective teeth whitening to brighten your smile. For more permanent solutions or to replace missing teeth, we provide options like durable porcelain veneers or dental implants that look and feel the most like your natural teeth.
  • Combating Gum Disease: Seniors are at a higher risk for gum disease because of factors like medication side effects or health conditions. This serious infection is a leading cause of tooth loss. The key is prevention and early treatment. Our gentle deep cleanings (scaling and root planing) remove harmful bacteria from below the gumline. Coupled with excellent daily care at home, we can help you manage gum health effectively.
  • Our Promise to You: No matter your age, our goal is to be your partner in maintaining a healthy, comfortable, and confident smile. Through regular checkups and personalized care, we’ll help you address the unique needs of your life stage. We’ll make sure you can enjoy eating, speaking, and smiling with ease.

We offer services like tooth extractions, root canals, and dental fillings to treat issues like damaged or decayed teeth.
