Preventative Care in our Virginia Beach Dental Office

We offer general dental treatments to keep patients healthy and prevent further oral health issues. At regular dental appointments, we offer dental cleanings that remove bacteria from the teeth and gums. Routine services our office provides include root canal treatment, dental fillings, custom mouthguards, emergency dental care, family dental services, sedation dentistry, tooth removal, and more.

Dental Fillings

There are many types of dental fillings available, but our dentist will select the best option for you after evaluating the type and size of your cavity. Dental fillings reduce the risk of further tooth decay and can help restore the appearance and function of your tooth by sealing up the decayed area or cavity.

Remember, fillings are not permanent and you may need to replace them over time due to normal wear and tear. It is still important to maintain good oral hygiene following your dental filling procedure in order to keep bacteria and plaque away and prevent further decay or damage.

Custom Mouthguard

Our custom-made sports mouthguards protect teeth from chips, cracks, fractures, or other breaks in the tooth enamel. Compared to store-bought sports mouthguards, our professional mouthguards are much more comfortable and snug. Patients do not need to worry about custom mouthguards falling out if they are custom to their smiles.

Emergency Dentistry

Our dedicated team is well-prepared to assist patients with a range of emergency dental issues. By reaching out to our office as soon as possible, we can prioritize your case and provide the necessary care to alleviate your discomfort or address any dental emergencies you may be experiencing. Whether you have a broken filling causing sensitivity or severe tooth pain that requires immediate attention, we are here to help!

Remember, it’s crucial not to delay seeking treatment when faced with a dental emergency. Prompt intervention can prevent further complications and ensure the best possible outcome for your oral health.

Family Dentistry

Coastal General Dentistry is a family dental practice that helps patients of all ages. We encourage parents to bring their children to regular dental visits so that patients can get accustomed to our office. Our team also continues to provide treatment to patients as they grow. Fillings, root canal treatment, and other dental care help patients with injured or infected teeth.

Dental Sedation

There are multiple sedation options for patients with anxiety or lengthy and complex procedures. Nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation calm and relax patients for their treatment. Sedation is a safe way for our patients to undergo dental procedures without stress and pain.

It’s worth mentioning that when administered by qualified professionals, sedation dentistry is safe and effective for most individuals. However, it’s crucial for our dentists to carefully evaluate each patient’s medical history and determine which type of sedation is most suitable for them. By offering these sedation options, our dentists can provide a more comfortable experience for our patients who may otherwise feel anxious or experience pain during their dental procedures.

Tooth Extractions

If your wisdom teeth are coming in or if you have a severe dental infection, we will need to remove your problem teeth. Tooth extractions can provide relief from pain and discomfort. One of the primary benefits of tooth extractions is the relief it provides from pain and discomfort. If you have a severely decayed or infected tooth, extracting it can alleviate the constant pain and allow for proper healing. Additionally, removing a tooth that is causing overcrowding or misalignment can help improve overall oral health and prevent future issues.

while having a tooth extracted may seem intimidating at first, it can be a very beneficial procedure. Our team makes sure that patients feel comfortable during extraction surgery. We provide local anesthetic and offer sedation options for this reason.

We want to ensure that patients feel comfortable whenever they visit our dental office. If you or a loved one have dental anxiety or a fear of the dentist, please contact us before your next appointment. Our friendly dental team will help you find the right way to assuage your dental fears so you can receive dental care. Dental sedation is a good option for highly anxious or fearful patients.
