Quality Family Dentistry Conveniently Located for Lynnhaven Families!
Coastal General Dentistry has been part of the Virginia Beach community since 2012. We’re not a corporate chain or a practice that cycles through new faces every few months. We’re local dentists who chose to build our careers here, raise our families here, and take care of our neighbors here.
For Lynnhaven residents, that means something simple but important. When you walk through our door, you’re not just another appointment on the schedule. You’re part of the community we serve.

What Lynnhaven Patients Tell Us They Appreciate
Appointments That Start on Time
Nobody likes sitting in a waiting room. We schedule carefully so that when it’s your time, we’re ready for you. Most patients are in and out in under an hour for routine visits.
Clear Answers, Plain Language
Dentistry can sound complicated. We skip the jargon and explain things in a way that actually makes sense. You’ll know what’s going on with your teeth, what your options are, and why we recommend one approach over another.
A Team That Stays Put
Ever notice how some offices have a revolving door of hygienists and assistants? Not here. Our team has been with us for years. You’ll see the same friendly faces visit after visit. That consistency matters.
No Judgment, Just Help
Maybe it’s been a while since your last checkup. Maybe your teeth aren’t where you’d like them to be. We don’t shame or lecture. We just help you figure out the best path forward from where you are today.
The Dentists Lynnhaven Residents Trust
Dr. Cappy Sinclair
Dr. Cappy Sinclair grew up in Virginia Beach. He attended local schools, knows the back roads, and understands what it’s like to live in this community. Before dental school, he worked as an art conservator. That background gives him an attention to detail that shows up in everything he does.
He earned his dental degree from VCU and has pursued advanced training at the Dawson Academy. There, he learned to look beyond individual teeth and understand how the whole mouth works together. He’s also an Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a credential held by fewer than 400 dentists worldwide.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Sinclair is probably spending time with his wife, Lauren, and their two boys, Ryder and Brooks. He gardens, cooks, and cycles around town like any other Virginia Beach local.
Dr. Mark Reichley
Dr. Mark Reichley grew up outside Philadelphia but has called Virginia Beach home since 2009. He and his wife, Jessica, a Virginia Beach native, are raising their two young children here. You might spot them on the beach, or at a local farm or museum.
He earned his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League school, then served four years as a dental officer in the U.S. Navy. Those years took him to Central America, Western Africa, and the Baltic Sea on humanitarian deployments.
Dr. Reichley is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, which means he has demonstrated advanced skill in placing dental implants. He also has extensive training in root canal therapy and takes a careful, patient approach to even the most complex procedures.

Services Lynnhaven Patients Ask About Most
Routine Care: Keeping Things Simple
- Checkups and Cleanings: Twice a year, every year is the formula for catching problems early and keeping your mouth healthy. Our hygienists are gentle but thorough. They’ll remove buildup you can’t reach at home and give you practical tips for staying on track between visits.
- Custom Mouthguards: If you play sports or grind your teeth at night, a custom-fitted guard is worth the investment. Store-bought guards are bulky and don’t fit right. Ours are made specifically for your mouth, so they actually stay in place and do their job.
- Digital X-Rays: We use digital X-rays that emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional film. They give us a clear picture of what’s happening beneath the surface, so we can spot issues before they become problems.
When Things Go Wrong: Restorative Care
- Tooth-Colored Fillings: Got a cavity? We use composite fillings that match your natural tooth color. You will not see any dark metal or obvious patches. Just a healthy tooth that looks like it was never touched.
- Root Canals: The phrase “root canal” scares many people. Root canals actually relieve pain, not cause it. An infected tooth hurts, but removing the infection brings relief. Dr. Reichley has advanced training in this area and a gentle touch that makes the process far easier than most people expect.
- Crowns and Bridges: If a tooth is too damaged for a filling, a crown can save it. If you’re missing a tooth, a bridge can fill that gap, preventing the surrounding teeth from shifting.
- Tooth Extractions: Sometimes a tooth just can’t be saved. Whether it’s severe decay or wisdom teeth causing problems, we perform extractions as gently and comfortably as possible. We’ll talk through what to expect and make sure you’re at ease.
Replacing Missing Teeth: Dental Implants
If you’re missing one or more teeth, you’ve probably heard about implants. They’re the closest thing to having your natural tooth back.
Dr. Reichley’s Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists means he has advanced training in this area. He places implants with precision and care, and the results speak for themselves. Implants don’t slip, don’t click, and with proper care, they can last a lifetime.
When You’re Nervous: Sedation Options
Some people just don’t like going to the dentist. Maybe you’ve had a bad experience somewhere else. Maybe the sounds and smells make you anxious. Maybe you’ve been avoiding care for years because the thought of sitting in that chair makes your palms sweat.
We offer several levels of sedation:
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) takes the edge off while you remain awake and aware
- Oral sedation lets you relax more deeply while still being able to respond
- IV sedation puts you in a dreamlike state where you’re comfortable and mostly unaware of what’s happening
Many of our most anxious patients tell us that sedation changed everything. They finally got the care they needed without the stress they’d come to expect.
When You Can’t Wait: Emergency Care
Toothaches don’t schedule themselves. Neither do broken teeth, lost fillings, or any of the other things that can go wrong at the worst possible time.
When you have a dental emergency, call us right away. We prioritize emergency patients and do everything we can to get you seen quickly. Prompt care makes a difference. It can save a tooth, stop pain, and prevent small problems from becoming big ones.
