Dr. Clayton Willinger is a compassionate General Dentist who has been working in the Hampton Roads area for the last seven years. He puts his passion into treating every patient as a unique individual and helps make the treatment a meaningful and personalized experience.
Dr. Willinger was born in Beaumont, Texas and spent most of his childhood and early adult years living in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from The University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Spanish. He spent his college years working in the Dallas Medical City Emergency Room, where he developed a passion for helping people in the medical field.
Dr. Willinger graduated dental school from The University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky. During his time in Kentucky, he worked in mobile dental units and rural, underserved communities providing emergency-based dentistry. Dr. Willinger currently provides general dental services. He enjoys replacing missing teeth as well as restoring the function of teeth, while also prioritizing esthetic concerns as a KOIS trained provider.
After dental school, Dr. Willinger and his wife fell in love with Virginia Beach and have called the area home ever since. Dr. Willinger has many hobbies and lives a very active lifestyle. He has been playing ice hockey since he was 8 years old. He enjoyed both playing travel hockey leagues as well as officiating hockey games for kids and adults. During dental school he began running half marathons, and he still currently competes in local races around Hampton Roads. He also uses his fine hand skills for woodworking, surfboard shaping, and Tiki carving.
Dr. Willinger and his wife have one son named Colton “Lou” Willinger. They enjoy traveling as a family to the mountains and beach towns.
